Photosynthesis (With Reactants and Products)

  • Photosynthesis is the process that plants undergo, to make sugar.
  • Plants breathe in carbon dioxide through the stomata, then it takes in water through the roots, finally it takes in sunlight through the chloroplasts.
  • The chloroplast use the three ingredients to turn it into glucose and oxygen.
  • Reactants and Products (Word Form) - Carbon Dioxide + Water + Sunlight = Glucose and Oxygen
  • Reactants and Products (Word Form) - CO2 + H2O + Sunlight = C6H12O6 and O2
  • This equation is unbalanced, so to balance it out, you add 6 atoms to each molecule, except for the glucose.
  • 6CO2 + 6H2O + Sunlight = C6H12O6 and 6O2
