- An energy pyramid is graphic that shows how energy flows through an ecosystem, and each trophic level.
- There are 5 Levels of the energy pyramid. throughout each one energy is lost, also there is some energy that is lost through the heat of the environment.
- Level 1 - Producers; Level 1 is our producers, they consist of grass, trees, flowers, or any kind of plant. They start out with the most energy.
- Level 2 - Primary Consumers; Level 2 is our primary consumers, they consist of herbivores.
- Level 3 - Secondary Consumers; Level 3 is our secondary consumers, they consist of carnivores who only eat herbivores.
- Level 4 - Tertiary Consumers; Level 4 is our tertiary consumers, they consist of carnivores, who eat any other consumer.
- Level 5 - Decomposers; Level 5 is our decomposers, they consist of any organism, that breaks down decomposing organisms.
