Blood Types

Chloe Russell

Main Ideas:

          1) There are 4 Blood Types A, B, AB, O
          2) There are 3 alleles iA, iB, i
          3) Alleles of Human Blood Types
                        a) A: iA-iA, iA-i
                        b) B: iB-iB, iB-i
                        c) AB: iA-iB
                        d) O: i-i
          4) Blood Type O is the universal donor because it can be donated to a person with any other blood type because it has no proteins on it.
          5) Blood Type AB is the universal recipient because it can receive any other blood type in a donation because it has both the A and B proteins.

Reflection:

Blood typing is a very important because of its medical uses. I learned how blood typing helps the donation and receiving of blood.. I also learned the different types of blood. I was shocked that if a person didn't receive that correct blood then they would die because of their blood clotting. It can be applied to everyday life in forensics and finding the parentage of a baby
